Nancy is back in Tanzania!
Veterinarian Nancy Mckay Rogge returns to Mbwa Wa Africa Animal Rescue
Hailing from Wisconsin in the USA, Nancy has returned to join the team in Tanzania for a second time. She brings all the key attributes we need to fulfil our mission of eliminating rabies: a wealth of knowledge, experience, passion, and veterinary supplies!
A lifelong dream, Nancy’s first visit to Tanzania was in January 2021. Supported by the Worldwide Veterinary Service, she spent a few weeks as a voluntary team member on one of our spay/neutering campaigns. We are thrilled Nancy is going to be with us for at least two years (or hopefully even longer!) as a primary vet. Nancy is keen to highlight that Mbwa Wa Africa Animal rescue is a well run organisation, and that her time there will be both productive and rewarding.
Whilst still a trainee vet, during her final year at veterinary school, Nancy spent six weeks in Kenya on an externship. Here she shadowed a veterinarian during his work day, learning a huge amount about diseases she’d only read about in text books, and about the resilience of animals and people in adverse conditions. A perfect grounding for her work with Mbwa Wa Africa Animal Rescue.
She’s an adventurer who loves to make a difference - welcome back Nancy!
